The Indulgence Issue

Project Overview:

The Digital team requested a custom but simple hub page for their last issue of VICE Mag: "The Indulgence Issue". This custom build includes the cycling of cover images, CTA of Subscribe and Editor's Note with article cards.

Project Details:

Due to the simplicity of the hub page we focussed on the styling of the cover images, exploring a variety designs of how the carousel of images could display.

Concept A, All three images display with lede cover image to the left in focus while the other two has a slight opacity overlay. The mages would rotate through and the upcoming image fills in the background with a light fill opacity

Concept B, The singular lede cover image would cycle through while the upcpming image fills in the background with a light fill opacity

With Concept C & D, we explored layering the cover images on top of one another. The lede image on full display while the other images are layered behind with a slight tilt. The background images has the same opacity style as the previous concepts. Whereas Concept D has a dark opacity fill on the upcoming covers.

For the final results as you can see, here we decided to follow through with Concept D with a few minor adjustments of keeping the light opacity vs the dark and got rid of the background image fill, so that the cover images would be the mainfocus.
