Custom build digital package featuring 23 noteworthy people in today’s contemporary culture.

Project Overview:

The "23 in 23" project was centered around a special initiative to highlight 23 influential cultural figures in the year 2023. The project aimed to showcase individuals shaping the cultural landscape in various fields, including music, fashion, art, and social impact. The goal was to create an engaging digital experience that not only presented these profiles but also made them accessible through dynamic visuals and intuitive interaction.

As one of the key designers on the project, my role focused on creating a user-friendly platform that could effectively display diverse media types, including articles, videos, and image galleries, while ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across devices.

The project needed a visually compelling layout that seamlessly integrated various forms of media and enabled users to explore the stories in a more immersive way. The primary challenge was designing for both desktop and mobile devices without compromising the experience, all while ensuring that users could navigate through the content efficiently and stay engaged with the storytelling.

We identified that users would likely be overwhelmed by the volume of content if it wasn’t organized in a digestible manner. Therefore, we structured the experience into modular sections that could house multimedia content, allowing users to easily access video interviews, written stories, and galleries of the 23 figures. A clean, minimalist design aesthetic was chosen to maintain a balance between rich content and simple navigation.

Creating a cohesive design that worked seamlessly on both desktop and mobile was essential. We used a responsive design framework, ensuring that all elements were optimized for touch interaction on mobile devices while also maintaining a rich experience on larger screens. Special attention was given to font scaling, image loading times, and overall interaction points.

Interactive Profiles: I worked closely on the design of profiles, ensuring each profile had a unique yet cohesive visuals.

Collaborative Prototyping: We used tools like Figma and Webflow for prototyping and early-stage development. I actively collaborated with other designers and developers to ensure the design intent was met in the final product.

This project reinforced the importance of modular, responsive design in modern digital experiences. Balancing rich, engaging content with an intuitive user experience was key to the platform’s success.

I explored an extensive range of color palettes for the profile modals, incorporating dark and white accent styles to enhance visual diversity across both desktop and mobile platforms. The goal was to provide a flexible design system that editors could customize based on their preferences, giving them the ability to use either dark or light themes to represent notable profiles. This approach not only maintained consistency with the project’s overall aesthetic but also introduced a dynamic visual experience, allowing for adaptability depending on the profile content. The color exploration ensured a cohesive user interface that enhances the engagement and readability of the profiles while giving the editors creative control over the look and feel of each profile.

Final Outcome:

As a designer, I learned the value of collaboration, not only between design teams but also across development and content strategy teams, to create a holistic and impactful product.

The "23 in 23" project demonstrated the power of combining rich media with a fluid user experience. Through iterative design processes, we were able to deliver a platform that was visually compelling and user-centric, offering users a chance to immerse themselves in the stories of cultural influencers across the globe.
